This is one of the delicious Russian Recipes which is not so easy to prepare.
This is very delicious second course Russian meal which, once prepared, can be stored in cold for several days. However, the process of preparing is not an easy one; usually it takes more then two hours, and a lot of patience. But the result can be worthing.
Beside the ingredients you will need 2 big boilers or cauldrons, one should be for 5 litters and high, the other should be large and not very high, one or two frying pan, fibers and scissors.
Ingredients
- 1 little cabbage of new crop
- 450 gram of minced beef
- 250 gram of minced pork
- 1 cup of rice
- 1 cup of sour cream
- 150 gram of butter
Method
Boil the rice. While the rice is boiling take the higher boiler, fill it with water for ¾ of the volume and boil the water. Take the cabbage, prick its heart and put the cabbage in the water. Wait 5 minutes, when the first leaves will become more bendable, begin to cut them off one by one and take out of the water. With knife remove the nub in the middle of each leave.
Mix the grinned meat and boiled rice, add salt and pepper by your taste. This will be stuffing. Take the leave, put there a little of stuffing and wrap it in the leave. This is golubetz. Take fibers and tie the envelope for it doesn’t unwrap. When you will do this to the first 6-7 golubetzs, put the frying pan on the fire, put there a little of butter and toast golubtzy a little from two sides. After that put them in the boiler, anoint with sour cream and add there the butter from the frying pan, where they were fried. Then repeat the procedure with the next set of golubetzs. Put them in layers and do not forget to add on every layer sour cream and used butter. When all this will be done, put the boiler on very low fire and stew it for 30 minutes. If needed you can add a little of water.
